Fear is a spirit. The Bible says “God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.” There is “the Fear of God”, which is reverence or respect for God, that is not the fear we are talking about. We are talking about a spirit of timidity or cowardice. This kind of fear is not of God. God wants us to be bold, fearless and courageous.
