First Impressions

Vision
Making an impression on the lost and unaccepted that they are wanted, loved and accepted at New Covenant and by the Father through us, His servants.

The First Impressions Team is to provide the love, acceptance, friendliness and compassion of Christ to the stranger and all those who come through the doors of

New Covenant. Everybody is somebody at New Covenant so no one should be

neglected. The First Impressions Team is comprised of the following sub-teams;

  • Parking–lot Attendants
  • Outside Greeters
  • Door Openers (teenagers)
  • Inside Greeters
  • Shuttlers
  • Ushers

First Impressions is one of the most exciting ministry teams on which to serve at New Covenant. You may have heard the statement, “you never get a second chance to make a first impression.” This team is very critical when it comes to first and second time guests. How we treat our Guests–especially our first and second time Guests could mean the difference between life and death (eternal life and eternal damnation).

If you are someone who has the gift of hospitality: which means you enjoy meeting new people and entertaining strangers, this ministry may be for you. First impressions people are usually extroverts. They do not wait for first time Guests to come and greet them. Instead they search out and look for opportunities to make first-time Guests feel welcomed. I remember visiting a certain church in Virginia and wherever I went on the church campus there was always people offering to help. If I needed to go to the rest room they did not show me where to go, I was taken to the restroom.

SCRIPTURE

Matthew 18:12-14

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one

that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”
