NAN Tech World

New Covenant Church is the home to the National Action Network’s (NAN) Plainfield Tech World. It’s doors were open by Mayor of Plainfield, Adrian O. Mapp and the Plainfield City Council. On September 5, 2017, Plainfield residents entered the doors of New Covenant to expand their knowledge of a technology driven world. The weekly sessions are ran in a collaborative leadership by Director of Administration and Finance, Health and Social Services, Mr. Ron West and the Executive Director of the NAN Newark Tech World, Lord Dowdell.

NAN Tech World is a dual partnership between the City of Plainfield and Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network which he founded in 1991. The free 12 week sessions seats 36 students and they will be sure to fill up rapidly. The current students learn the computer basics to web design and development. The outcome of the program is not only to enhance their knowledge but they do have the option to pursue a Cisco Certification; which could provide many opportunities in the job market. If you are a Plainfield resident and interested in signing up for this program next session you can contact 908.753.3237.
